KONFIGURASI WIRELESS ROUTER
At 5:15 RouterOS version has introduced a new menu that Quick Set . As the name implies this Quickset can be used to configure the router faster. If the setting is usually in Mikrotik we need to access multiple menus, with Quickset we do not need to do that.
The standard settings required to connect to the internet and LAN are available for distribution on the Quickset. Quickset menu is only found in Routerboard which has a wireless interface, both who could serve as AP (License Level 4) or CPE (License Level 3), you can access the Quickset on the top menu when you remote router via winbox or webfig.
Quick Display Set on Winbox
Case in point, we will configure Mikrotik wireless router to be connected to the Internet through an AP.
Configure the AP that already exists as follows:
- SSID = quickset
- Band = 5GHz-A
- Frequency = 5180MHz
- Without Wireless Security
- IP Address with DHCP Server active 10.10.20.1/24
First, we do setting for wireless function as a station (CPE).
By default when we access, Quickset functioning wireless as CPE and automatically performs scanning APs are within reach. By doing so, we do not need to change the wireless mode, live we connect to the AP we mean. If the AP side to enable wireless security (WPA / WPA2), then in addition to the Connect button automatically appears WPA Password text box.
There are three options on acquisition address is DHCP, PPPoE and Static . Can be adapted to conditions on the ground. If you subscribe to a provider that the connection process using dial-up can use the second option is PPPoE .
You can also use the selection to three, namely Static , by assign WAN IP Address, IP Gateway and IP DNS Servers manually.
The next step to do the configuration for distribution towards the local network. Specify IP for the local network / LAN on the parameters of the LAN IP address , for example 192.168.88.1/24. Since we set as a wireless CPE, then the LAN IP address will be mounted on ether1 interface.
We can also make settings so that a client on a local network automatically obtain IP from the Router with DHCP. Enable DHCP server on the local interface (ether1) dg parameter checking DHCP server . Then, specify the IP range to be loaned automatically to the client on the parameters of the DHCP Server Range .
Recently enable NAT by checking parameter NAT , then Quickset will add a rule src-nat masquerade / ip firewall nat. Quick Set For Wireless Access Point (AP) Besides being used for setting the wireless station (CPE), with Quickset we can also do the wireless settings AP. For AP mode, there are several sub-menus to perform the configuration similar to the previous mode = CPE. Case in point, we will create an AP to distribution via wireless internet access. For example, we set the AP with the following settings:
- SSID = apTest
- Band = 2GHz-B / G
- Frequency = 2412MHz
- LAN IP Address 10.20.20.1/24, enable the DHCP Server
If you want to apply AccesList function, you can check the parameter Use ACL under the MAC-address information. ACL stands for Access List, where the ACL is a management method for wireless client connected to the AP we are.
We can see the clients that are connected to the sub menu Wireless Client. If you want one client which is connected into the Access List (ACL), click the Copy button to ACL below it.
Next, we set the router in order to work with memlih mode Routing Router Configuration Mode. On the implementation in the field can be adjusted as needed. The function is the same as when setting the CPE.
Quite easy and fast is not it.? Quickset is suitable when we do the settings for the RB having only one WLAN interface and one Ethernet. Example: SXT series, Groove series, Metal series, and so on.
Only by accessing the Quickset menu, setting a standard wireless router can be done.
